Getting to MacArthur Museum
Right in the heart of Brisbane's shopping district.
The MacArthur Museum is just a short walk from either the train or bus stations. You can travel by train bus or car to get to the Museum, which is right in the heart of Brisbane’s shopping district.
Located on the corner of Edward and Queen streets, you will find the MacArthur Museum in the MacArthur Chambers, a heritage listed sandstone building across the road from the end of the Queen Street Mall. If you are coming in by car, there are several secure car parks in and around the City.
Entrance to the Museum is through the MacArthur Chambers Apartment Hotel foyer on Edward Street where you will be greeted by a Museum volunteer. The MacArthur Museum is on level 8 of MacArthur Chambers.
Getting There
Car Parking
Car Parking is available inside the MacArthur Central although this can be very expensive of a stay of a few hours. Entrance to the underground car park is via the Elizabeth Street. Take the lift from the car park level 2 of MacArthur Central to street level and walk straight ahead towards Edward Street. There, turn right to see the entrance to MacArthur Chambers Apartment Hotel (where you will see our sign to the Museum). A volunteer will greet you in the downstairs foyer and send you up to the Museum on level 8.
Train
MacArthur Museum is a short 5 minute walk from the Brisbane Central Station. Exit the station on the corner of Ann and Edward streets and continue to walk down Edward Street, crossing both Adelaide and Queen Streets. The Museum is located inside MacArthur Chambers a heritage listed sandstone building on the corner of Queen and Edward Streets. Bus
You can get to MacArthur Museum by bus. Most city bound buses will terminate at Queen Street Mall interchange where it is just a short walk down the Queen Street mall to get to the Museum on the corner of Queen and Edward streets.Bus Stops 141 and 142 are located just outside the entrance to the MacArthur Museum on Edward Street.
Taxi
Taxis can drop off and pick up at the door. Entrance to Museum is on Edward Street.

Cafes and eateries. Located conveniently inside the adjacent MacArthur Central precinct, you will find a number of cafes and restaurants and a food hall upstairs. Alternatively, the Queen Street Mall offers a number of cafes and food outlets.
